Ways to Support LNW Performing Arts
-
Attend Meetings
Attending our monthly meeting is the best way you can support your performing arts student(s). This keeps you informed about many things including what is happening, opportunities to volunteer, and other ways you can help grow our LNW performing arts programs. Meetings are generally the first Monday of each month at 7:00pm in the band room (276), but sometimes have to be moved. Watch on social media or check our schedule on this page.

LNW Performing Arts Boosters FAQ
-
Does it cost to join?
No. Just by being a performing arts parent or guardian you are considered a member. There is no cost required to be involved, attend meetings and help ensure the success of our programs. However, for those interested, we do have donation levels and would appreciate any donation you can make. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit.

Is is going to take a ton of my time?
No. We have many parents/guardians who attend our monthly meetings and then volunteer their time when they are available for events. This includes things like helping our at the Capital City Classic or volunteering to help at a concert. We also have many parents/guardians who are not able to volunteer at an event, but choose to help out by providing food for students during camps or providing cookies at a concert. And of course we have others who choose to spend a bit more time, by serving on the Board of Directors or a committee to keep things moving throughout the year. There is something for everyone.

What do you do?
The answer to this comes down to three things. First, we provide funding to support our band, orchestra, theatre, and choir programs. Second, we provide volunteer time to help ensure performing arts events go well and to run fundraisers to help provide the previously mentioned funding. Third, we support our amazing performing arts programs, teachers, and students by attending performances and competitions, by promoting events, and showing off the amazing talent of our students.

What does the money you raise go toward?
The answer to this is pretty broad. We provide pretty much anything that our programs need to ensure our students and teachers are as successful as possible. This includes obvious things like makeup, costumes, tools, set materials, valve oil, and reeds. But is also includes things like choreographers, accompanists, clinicians, new instruments, risers, a trailer to haul equipment to contests and events, and even busing to performing arts competitions. Funding is always our greatest need, and as a newer school, we are still trying to build up to a level that can support our programs at the level they need. If you are interested in donating, you can do that HERE.
